There are lots of folks out there that are trying to lead healthier lives, and doing it is easier if you have company. You can support each other, give each other tips, or even exercise together. Find a neighbor that wants to walk in the morning too; just think of all of the gossip you can get done, all while getting in shape! I know there are good cooks out there, I wish I had one as my low-fat cooking buddy. Every now and then I get an “idea” that doesn’t go over very well and I risk having my cooking privileges revoked.
The opposite side of the same coin is to get a goal buddy that you compete with. This is particularly helpful for people like me. I already have an entire group I am competing with, a handful of German guys, all members of a judo club that I go hiking with in the summer. Every year I huff and puff up the hill behind them. This year I will NOT be last up the hill…even if it kills me. The trick here is to find someone who is at the same level as you so that one of you does not lose too consistently in order to keep the competition fair.
Joining a gym can be helpful. Most people make good friendships at gyms and health clubs, and in short time going to the gym becomes a social event in itself not just a workout.
Lastly there is always the paid Goal Buddy: hiring a coach or personal trainer. This can be very helpful if you do not have a lot of knowledge about exercise. I highly recommend a trainer when you start a weight lifting routine. A trainer will absolutely help you from hurting yourself. I found that even very small changes in how you lift can make the exercise more effective and reduce your risk of injury.
Anyone looking for a Goal Buddy, either someone to support you or to compete with, you can post your request in the comment box below.

Hello
I have a different view on this and I really wished I had the time right now. I’ll go right now and subscribe and when I have the time I’ll leave my reply. Fantastic web log by the way. I’m trying to get one going but my programming friend is slacking off on me. Thanks again for your post – Joy.
Cheers!
Nice looking blog you have here. The theme is awesome, great color combination.
